From Homebased to Market Ready
A one-day business seminar for food and beverage entrepreneurs — one day, six modules, and the people who actually handle funding, compliance and market access in Malaysia.
One day. Real knowledge. Real business opportunities.
Turning Small Food Businesses Into Market-Ready Brands
Every successful food brand starts somewhere.
Some begin from a home kitchen. Some start with a family recipe. Others begin with a single product, a small online business or simply an idea that someone believes can go further.
But moving from making a good product to building a sustainable business requires more than passion.
Entrepreneurs need the right knowledge, positioning, compliance, branding, market access and network.

About the Programme
MFHI Entrepreneur Series is an initiative under the Malaysia Food Heritage Initiative (MFHI) that brings entrepreneurs together with industry practitioners, government agencies, experts and market players.
The programme focuses on practical knowledge and real business challenges faced by food entrepreneurs.
From developing a product and strengthening a brand to understanding compliance and accessing larger markets, participants will gain exposure to different areas required to build a more competitive food business.
The objective is simple: to help entrepreneurs move from selling products to building businesses that are ready for the market.
What You Will Learn
Six modules, ordered the way a product actually travels: from what is in the packet, to who finally buys it.

Product Development & Packaging
What separates a product sold at a weekend market from one a retailer will shelve — a recipe that repeats, shelf life, labelling, and packaging that survives delivery.
Food Technology & Compliance
The standards, documentation and processing required once production moves from a kitchen to a facility. The part that most often stops entrepreneurs at the last step.
Halal & Business Readiness
Halal certification from the inside: what gets inspected, how long it takes, and what must already be in place before applying. Halal is not a sticker — it is a system.
Funding & Business Growth
Where capital comes from for small food businesses — grants, microfinancing, investors — and what each one actually wants to see in your numbers.
Market Access Local & Global
Retailers, distributors, exhibitions, institutional markets and export. What must exist before a door can open, and the order in which to open them.
Customer Relation Excellence Through Social Media
A special session with Imran Ajmain. How an online presence becomes a real customer relationship — and stays one after the post has scrolled past.
Special Sharing Session
Imran Ajmain — Customer Relation Excellence Through Social Media
Most food entrepreneurs are already on social media. Far fewer have customers who come back because of it.
The gap is not posting frequency. It is what happens after someone follows: whether they feel there is a person at the other end, or only a brand talking.
Imran Ajmain built a career in front of an audience that followed him across markets and across years. In this session he brings that into the context of a food business.
What It Covers
- Turning followers into customers who return
- Sounding like a person, not a brand
- Consistency that does not exhaust you
- Handling complaints in the open
- What to share, and what not to
- Building an identity people remember
Because in food, people do not buy a product once — they come back to someone they trust.
Meet the Ecosystem
Learn. Connect. Grow.
Entrepreneurship does not happen in isolation.
Throughout the programme, participants will have opportunities to connect with fellow entrepreneurs, agencies, industry practitioners and potential ecosystem partners.
MFHI aims to create a platform where entrepreneurs can not only learn but also build relationships that can lead to future opportunities.

More Than a Seminar
MFHI Entrepreneur Series is part of a wider entrepreneur development ecosystem under the Malaysia Food Heritage Initiative.
Our goal is not for the relationship with entrepreneurs to end when the seminar ends.
MFHI is building an ecosystem connecting entrepreneurs to:
Training & Development
Industry & Agency Support
Compliance & Business Readiness
Exhibitions & Market Access
Business Matching
International Market Opportunities
The journey starts with knowledge — but the destination is the market.
